Hello …and Welcome back,
Believe it or not February is gone, and spring is almost here. I love this time of year, and I am so excited
to see what’s to come. The renewal of nature and it’s beauty as we begin to come out of the slump of
winter and enter into the beginning of new life. The brown grass beginning to grow a little greener, and
flowers blooming making life a little brighter with their bursts of color. The only downside I see in this is
the pollen that comes along with it. I guess we can’t have everything we want. Right? Welcome to
South GA. When I think about nature and all the amazing things God has created, it just blows my mind
of his awesome power and greatness. God is the master of creativity and beauty. Thinking about all of
God’s creations makes me wonder what purpose each thing has in this world and the cycle of life is just
beyond my comprehension. Life can be wonderful and complicated all at the same time. God has
created each and everything out of love and for a purpose; especially you and I. He created us in his own
image and for a unique and special purpose.
As children of God, we should be renewing our minds daily; applying the word to our lives. Just like
plants, we need to grow both physically and spiritually. Lately, I have been trying to remind myself of
that. I don’t always get into God’s word as much as I would like to, and sometimes I get sidetracked by
life issues. I try to remind myself that no matter what may be going on each day of my life, my
relationship with God is most important. God’s plan for each of our lives includes loving others and
focusing on their needs. Ministering to and helping others is what it’s all about. Love in action if you
will. Here lately, my family have been going through a lot of life changes; I am sure many of you have
been also. I try to take each day as it comes, and not worry about tomorrow. God loves each of us so
much, and he is with us each step of the way. As we live out each day, applying God’s word to our lives
as Christians is so important. Our lives depend on it. I fail sometimes, but my goal is to focus more on
God’s word and apply it to my life daily even if it is small amounts. I don’t believe that we can spend too
much time with God. In fact, the more time we spend with God in prayer and reading his word, the
better we will be. It is my desire to grow closer to Christ through his word so that I can continue to grow
in my walk with God and to be able to be used by God to minister to others.
Let each of us strive to renew our hearts and minds daily with God’s help so that we can accomplish all
that he has set before us to do.
Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
Isaiah 41:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings
as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary and they shall walk, and not faint.
As I leave you today, enjoy this beautiful time of year and take every opportunity to praise God for all
that he has done.
Until next time,
Dana
