February 2019
If you have never read my blog….then welcome, and if you have read it before…welcome back.
I am excited of what God has in store for you and I this year. As I set out to write this month’s blog, God reminded me that this is the month of Love. What better way to start the month of February than to reflect on God’s love for us. In fact, God is love, and he gave us his son Jesus Christ. The greatest Valentine any of us could ever ask for. We are given this assurance through God’s word. One scripture that we can see this promise is *located in the bible in the book of John.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.*
I believe this is the greatest way God has expressed His love for us. I am so grateful for that love. God gives us love and peace like no other. Nothing can compare. Over the last few weeks, I have experienced the loss of several people that have meant a lot to me over the years. Two of these people were elders of the church where my husband was raised, and where we served and attended church for several years. This week my husband and I found out that a very dear friend of ours passed away suddenly early Sunday morning this past weekend leaving behind his wife and three daughters. My heart breaks for all of these families. I feel sadness on a personal level as well, but I am finding comfort in the memories that I have of each one of these special people. I also find comfort in knowing that God is helping me get through each day as He engulfs me in love and peace.
I pray for each of you that may be going through tough times; maybe you have recently experienced loss in your life or just need God to love on you extra hard. You can find that peace and grace that only God can give. So, if you have never accepted Jesus into your heart and life --don’t hesitate--accept Him by faith today. Gods grace and mercy for each of us is new every day, and through Jesus, we find strength and comfort. He is our rock in this life. Our deliverer in the storms of this life.
Psalm 18:1-6 I will love thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid. The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me. In my distress I called upon the Lord and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.
May you have peace and comfort in the days ahead no matter what may come your way. I would love to pray with you. If you have any prayer requests you can email me at danapaterson1991@gamil.com.
In Christ love,
