Come as you are ……
First of all, I would like to welcome you to the beginning of an amazing journey…my first blog of many if God allows. My prayer is that God will be able to minister to you through these words and thoughts as this blog continues. I would like to take this opportunity to share a little about myself.
I am a daughter, wife, mother, and even grandmother (aka Nona) which is so hard for me to believe. My family is very important to me, but the most important thing right now to me it growing in my relationship with God and being obedient to him. Putting God first is what helps us in our daily lives. It is how we make the best of all other relationships go more smoothly. If it was not for God, I don’t believe that I would have my amazing family. The fact that I have a family makes me very grateful and truly blessed.
You and I can find comfort and peace in knowing that God gives us, all of His children, unconditional love, grace, and mercy. God wants to love us even when we don’t feel like we measure up. That is why, I believe, God planted a seed in my heart over 2 ½ years ago to start a ministry called “Come As You Are” and that it would be connected with my church. I was not sure what all that would mean, but I excepted it by faith and prayed God’s will be done.
Over the next few months, God continued to lead me and guide me to just trust Him and believe it would all fall into place. So during a special prayer service at our church a few months back, God spoke into my spirit that I would begin this ministry by having a blog ministry to reach people that normally I would not be able to reach otherwise. It was still not clear to me how my church would be connected with the ministry until after I was able to meet with our associate pastor Matt to accomplish what God had set into motion. God wants to love and bless all of his children.
I believe as Christians that we should all witness to others and part of that it taking what God has done for us during our life experiences and sharing that with others. That is why I am stepping out by faith and doing this blog. “Come as You Are” ministry blog will be me sharing with you, and in return, you will have an opportunity to share with me. You can send me emails with questions or prayer requests that you may have. I pray that as I share my life, my faith, my heartaches and joys that you will realize that none of us are perfect. Life can be hard, but God is good and merciful. He helps us through each part if we just allow Him too. Let’s see what amazing things God has in store for us as we grow together in our faith and share our lives through this blog experience. Remember you can respond by email if you desire with your thoughts or questions. If you do this then I will answer back as quickly as I can. Also, if you do not have a church home, one that teaches God’s word from the Holy Bible already, then check out the services at my church. Just simply visit our facebook page, ACOG Church, and be ministered to each week. This information is connected with this blog also. During each blog I will also share with you scriptures that I feel God would have me share; I pray these words will help us all grow in God. My faith is in the Trinity God of the Holy Bible (God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit). I plan to mainly use scriptures from the NIV version of the Holy Bible. It will help for a better understanding of the word of God for most people to read.
Today I am sharing the NIV Bible Verse *John 3:16--17 --For God so Loved the world that He gave is one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
*If you have never known God on a personal level or want to ask Him back into your life. Please don’t hesitate; ask Him now. In fact, all you have to do is pray to Him. Praying is just simply talking to God. We are all sinners in this world who need a Savior. God said if we believe in our hearts and accept His love through His Son Jesus Christ then we are saved. For He gave his life as the ultimate sacrifice for you and me when he died on the cross and then Jesus overcame death by rising again. Jesus lives forever more, making intercession for you and I every single day of our lives. *God loves you and even though you may not understand everything, simply trust and believe by faith. Ask Him to forgive you of all your sins and come into your heart and life to be your Lord and Savior and to help you each day as you grow and learn more about Him. Amen. *If you have done this then Congratulations!! You are a child of God saved by grace, forgiven and free of guilt and shame for His takes that away to remember your past sin no more. If you have additional questions or want to share your experience of salvation with me let me know through email. I can’t wait to hear from you.
May you be blessed today.
Until my next blog,
Dana.
